The Identification and Analysis of Gas-Related Volcanic Features within Chang’e-5 Landing Region

Chang’e-5 (CE-5) successfully landed on the young basalts area in northeastern Oceanus Procellarum 1 December 2020. Recent studies CE-5 landing have shown that lack of gas-related volcanic morphology indicates volatile elements captured interior Moon within late-stage magma is relatively low. Typical lunar features include dark mantle deposits, pits, irregular mare patches and so on. Based orbital images, topography, spectral data obtained from multiple missions restricted by morphologic compositional characteristics typical explosive features, this study investigated morphological detail found there are three deposits (DMDs) near source Rima Mairan unusually low albedo abnormally high titanium iron content than those surrounding material. Combined with M3 analysis, it DMDs contain some glass components, which a gas-rich eruption process. In addition to DMDs, (IMPs) depression/pit been recognized area, both indicate history eruptions. combined past studies, we determined Mairan, including effusive activities.
